En confectionnant la création qu’il présente à la Biennale du lin, Sylvain Primeau a réalisé qu’il ne travaillait pas aussi souvent qu’il le voudrait avec le lin. Les avantages de cette fibre naturelle sont nombreux à ses yeux : confort, mais aussi douceur, charme, et glamour. Son œuvre est le fruit d’une recherche sur les architectures modernes et urbaines, dont l’inspiration principale est la Tour du CN à Toronto. Véritable trois-en-un, la création peut se porter en jupe ballon, en jupe droite longue ou des deux façons à la fois.
C’est en 1997 que Sylvain Primeau fait son entrée dans la confection de vêtements féminins. Deux ans plus tard, il crée l’atelier-boutique Sylvain Primo Designer Mode. Sa première collection de prêt-à-porter féminin, Romantik / Tonik, est présentée devant public au Complexe Méduse à Québec. En 2002, la Collection P-É Nu-Chic habille l’homme et la femme. En plus de créer ses collections, il a collaboré à l’organisation de défilés de mode et à la création de costumes.
While designing his creation for the Biennale du lin, Sylvain Primeau realised that he didn’t work with linen as often as he would have liked. He believes the fabric has many extraordinary qualities, such as being comfortable, but also soft, attractive and glamorous. His work is the result of research on urban and modern architecture, with the Toronto CN Tower as the main source of his inspiration. His creation is a three in one that can be worn either as a bubble skirt, a long narrow skirt or both ways altogether.
It was in 1997 that Sylvain Primeau made his début in the women’s wear fashion industry. Two years later he created his boutique-workshop, Sylvain Primo Designer Mode. His first ready-to-wear women’s line Romantik / Tonik, was presented at the fashion show Complexe Méduse in Quebec city. In 2002, his collection P-É Nu-Chic was created for both for men and women. In addition to creating his own fashion lines he has also helped with organising fashion catwalk shows and with designing costumes.
