Les objets usés et rouillés sur lesquels Severija Inčirauskaitė-Kriaunevičienė intervient sont représentatifs de l’ère soviétique des années 1940-50. L’artiste orne ces objets de motifs floraux ou coutumiers, aujourd’hui peu valorisés, inspirés de la culture traditionnelle lituanienne. Le contraste entre des broderies au point de croix et des objets métalliques vieillis amènent l’artiste à s’approprier son histoire et à proposer un questionnement sur une identité à reconstruire.
Severija Inčirauskaitė-Kriaunevičienė a exposé ses œuvres en Lituanie, en Suède, au Pays-Bas, en Italie et en Estonie. Elle a aussi participé à la 4eBiennale internationale d’art au Musée national d’Art de Chine à Beijing en 2010. Parallèlement à sa carrière artistique, elle travaille à la galerie Artiflex et au département de textile de l’Académie d’Art de Vilnius.

The worn and rusty objects on which Severija Inčirauskaitė-Kriaunevičienė intervenes are representative of the 40s and 50s Soviet era. The artist decorated these objects with customary or floral motifs, less valued today, inspired by traditional Lithuanian culture. The contrast between the cross stitching embroidery and the old metallic objects help the artist to assume her history and offer questions on an identity to be rebuilt.
Severija Inčirauskaitė-Kriaunevičienė has exposed her work in Lithuania, Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy and Estonia. She also participated in Beijing’s 4th International Art Biennale at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing in 2010. In parallel with her artistic career, she works at the Artiflex Gallery and in the textile department of the Vilnius Academy of Arts.
